Israel –God’s Heart Landscapes and Legacy of Israel Book Review

Soar across the skies of beautiful Israel and visit contemporary and historic sites beckoning visitors to stay and explore.

The beauty of Israel from above is captured by top aerial photographer Ron Gafni.  As you sweep over ancient ruins, fly high in hot air balloons, and view vignette's of Israel's modern lifestyles, Holy Scripture will also come alive. Author Kathleen Barrett offers reflective narrative with scripture pointing to God's redemption plan for the world.

About the Authors: Ron Gafni and Kathleen Barrett

Ron Gafni works as a professional aerial photographer after spending more than a decade in Israel’s High-Tech Industry. He brings his vast experience and personal perspective through the lens of a proud Israeli citizen. His work has been featured in “National Geographic,” and his company, Skypics.co.il, provides books from its “Israel From Above” collection to the Israeli government, Army, and Air force, as well as to large corporations in Israel.

Kathleen Barrett, a South Florida resident and former teacher is a student of the Word. She shares her thoughtful point of view in “Israel-God’s Heart” from a personal, 40 year walk of Christian faith and study. In 2002, she authored a children’s devotional. Before that and since then, she has published many articles from mission’s outreach to local political events. Her more personal and reflective work has been featured in a number of collections.

My Thoughts:

I was blessed to have gone and visited Israel for 17 days back in 2013. It was an amazing and life changing experience for me. I would love to go back again.

I love photography and when I was in Israel I had my new camera malfunction after using it for only 3 days. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take pictures myself and relied on the charity of others giving me copies of their pictures.

Israel –God’s Heart has taken me back to Israel through some stunning full color photographs of the land.  There are both aerial and landscape photos in this book. This is a hardback book with 98 pages. The book measures 6 1/2” x 9”.

The book is broken up in sections:

Beloved Jerusalem
Devine Design
Landscape of History
Marvels of Modern Israel
Salt of the Earth-The Dead Sea

Seeing the full color pictures from above is absolutely stunning. The colors of the land are breath taking. I love that the scriptures are referenced to certain regions in Israel. My favorite is “If I forget you O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.” Psalms 137:5. There are many images or God’s beloved city of Jerusalem showing the Old City and the Temple Mount, Western Wall, and other sites in Jerusalem.

This has several historical and modern images within the pages of this book. Some fun pictures like a beekeeper that is suited up and in the midst of going into his several beehives. Being a beekeeper myself that spoke to me. The fields of flowers in bloom from up above-is a stunning picture. In loved the migrating bird’s pictures.

Some of the photographs cover the entire pages, others are smaller photos. They all have a description of the location, as well as some information about the location. There are scripture printed references of the photographs as well that point to a scripture of the location on some of the pictures.

This is a timeless treasure of photos from Israel. I would recommend this beautiful book. You can get your own copy here.
